On Earth Day 2013, cities and communities around the world will come together to conserve energy, plant trees, and do their part in helping to clean up the up the planet. This April 22, Gravy – the free, mood-based what's going on app – wants to make sure no one misses out on any of the fun, entertaining and earth-conscious “green” events and activities going on near where they live, work and play.
Based on the number of green friendly events happening in and around each city every year, Gravy has ranked US cities on just how “Earth-Friendly” they really are. Rounding out the top five are Portland, San Francisco, Boston, Austin, and Chicago. Did your city make the top 5?

Earth Day Massive Spin Jam in the Common: Eternal Lotus Fire and Performance Art Collective welcome everyone to have fun and celebrate our earth to help raise money for local nature preservation. Tree saplings and seed packets will be handed out to those who attend.
Austin Earth Day Festival 2013: Back at the "Historic Browning Hangar" at Mueller, Austin's sustainable mixed-use urban development, the festival will feature great live music, inspiring speakers, educational workshops, kids activities, outdoor activities, food & drink, exhibitors, electric vehicles & more.
Chicago Earth Day 5k: Turn awareness into action at the 4th annual GreenChoice Bank 5k for Earth Day. This Green event provides a great opportunity for the Chicago community to enjoy our earth’s natural environment. The fast and flat course is set in the beautiful Humboldt Park in the heart of Chicago.
