Williston Road location features dramatic interior design and new technology

South Burlington, VT  ̶  Molly Dillon, Senior Vice President of Merchants Bank and President of Merchants Trust Company, joined over 100 community members and bank staff at the official ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration at the new location on the corner of Williston Road and Hinesburg Road.

Champ, the Lake Monsters’ mascot, made a guest appearance to greet customers while bank staff provided guided tours and shared information about the new branch design and awarded prizes from local businesses. As part of the bank’s ongoing community commitment, a donation was presented to COTS.

Beginning at the Grand Opening and continuing each week until April 10, winners will be selected weekly and receive exciting prizes from local businesses–including great items from Cheese Traders, Vermont Lake Monsters, Executive Car Care, Rags & Riches and Superb Cupcake. This culminates on April 10th, with one lucky winner getting a $500.00 Travel Certificate from Milne Travel.

“This grand opening and move to such a high profile and convenient location reflects our community and customer commitment while improving access to new banking technology,” Dillon said.

A few highlights of the new branch office include:
  • Two remote capture ATMs – one in the lobby and one at the drive-up – allowing customers to deposit checks and cash without having to use deposit slips or envelopes. Once customers insert a check or cash, the machine displays an image of the check and itemized listing of cash, adds it up and asks the customer to confirm the amount of the deposit, providing necessary security and control.
  • A computer kiosk allowing customers to conduct their Online Banking and open an account online with the help of a staff member nearby to answer questions and provide guidance.
  • A unique floor plan conceived by award-winning Christine Burdick Design is more inviting and user-friendly to customers. Branch staff is available to help with more complicated or in-depth transactions and solve other problems that arise. Other tools and technology will be incorporated into the new design to increase transaction efficiency, processing speed and overall quality.
