Divine Makeover Inspires Christ-Centered Attitude

Saint Louis, MO—With magazine covers flaunting air-brushed images and movies starring ultra-thin superstars, the world sets an impossible standard of beauty. And while new clothes and a stylish haircut can boost just about any young woman’s confidence, Concordia Publishing House offers a healthier idea of beauty with Divine Makeover: God Makes You Beautiful—an eight-week Bible study crafted especially for 15 to 20 year-olds.

“It’s our hope that these young ladies will find their worth as daughters of Christ and see that they are beautiful because they are made in God’s image,” says Peggy Kuethe, Senior Editor of Women’s Bible Studies at Concordia Publishing House.

Designed for individual or group study, Divine Makeover includes short readings and questions to guide readers to Scripture, where God reveals His perfect makeover plan. Using light-hearted, personal stories and clever clothing analogies, author Sharla Fritz encourages young women to undergo a makeover—one that affects the heart rather than the waistline or wardrobe.

Divine Makeover also explores the effects of social media and the problem of “Facebook envy.” And while her study focuses on a transformation of the heart, Fritz also offers helpful fashion tips, from dressing modestly to wearing the right colors. She easily balances the allure of the fashion world with God’s definition of beauty.

“Modesty means knowing you’re beautiful inside and out without having to prove it to others,” Fritz says.

Divine Makeover can be preordered at or by calling (800) 325-3040. It will be available after March 3rd at your local Christian bookstore.
