May 8, 2014 (Jay, VT)- Jay Peak Resort has been honored again for its marketing initiatives by the National Ski Areas Association. The resort was presented with the award for Best Old School marketing at the NSAA’s national convention held last week in Savannah, GA. Steve Wright, Jay Peak’s Chief Marketing Officer, attended the packed ceremony to receive the accolade.
"It's an honor to receive this kind of recognition," remarked Wright. "There are over 300 winter resorts in the country. It feels good when the work you and your team has done is brought into the spotlight by an organization like the NSAA."
Jay Peak received the prestigious honor for its Momentus campaign.
The second season of the Momentus campaign features the tag “Relive New Moments” and is anchored by an animated commercial featuring the voice of 40-year old woman’s inner child questioning the course of life her adult self has chosen. Jay Peak used various versions of the commercial in radio, print, TV, and online ads.
“This year’s campaign was successful across all channels, particularly radio where it really caused the phones to ring,” Wright told the crowd of media and industry veterans.
Wright has been at the helm of Jay Peak’s Marketing department since 2004 and has been the creative force behind the resort’s marketing initiatives. Under his direction, Jay Peak embarked on a series of creative campaigns deemed successful not only for the 220% growth in revenue attributed to them, but for the buzz they caused. During his tenure, Jay Peak won a total of 12 awards for its marketing campaigns; seven of those accolades coming in the “Best Of” category from the National Ski Areas Association.
Other “Best Of” winners at this year’s NSAA Annual Conference included Telluride Ski and Golf Resort, CO; Deer Valley Resort Company, UT; and Winter Park Resort, CO.
