UW-Platteville named a top military-friendly university

PLATTEVILLE, Wis., 1.10.13– Military Advanced Education (MAE) has included the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in its 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities.

From community colleges to state universities, online universities, and nationally known centers of higher learning, MAE’s 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities provides potential students with information about institutions that go out of their way to implement military-friendly policies in support of our men and women in uniform.

Among the attributes considered are the flexibility of online learning options, extent of transfer credits accepted by degree level, on-campus ROTC, Servicemember Opportunity Colleges (SOC) participation, on-campus active duty/veteran assistance, the support provided to the families of service members, faculty trained in veteran reintegration issues, presence on military installations, and  full-time counselors trained in veteran-specific mental health concerns.

UW-Platteville Online offers:
  • Degree programs approved for Veterans Administration (VA) benefits under the GI Bill, as well as tuition assistance for active-duty, reserve, and National Guard service members
  • Camaraderie-building groups specifically designed for active-duty military, reservists, veterans, and military spouses
