Urbana-based Clickstop continues to grow, with the addition of six new staff members as well as a summer intern. The e-commerce business, which operates ten different websites, now has more than 70 employees with the recent additions.
The marketing department welcomed Loraine Kelty as a marketing specialist and Matt Mitchell as a category manager for US Cargo Control, the company’s flagship brand.
Kelty comes to Clickstop from United Fire & Casualty in Cedar Rapids, where she was a senior analyst. Her role involves researching and analyzing product offerings, sales trends, and market positioning for the website as well as the US Cargo Control products for third party sellers such as Amazon and Ebay. Mitchell is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa where he earned a degree in marketing and finance and a certificate in entrepreneurial management. He is responsible for the merchandising management of product categories, including development, pricing, and marketing strategies.
Evan Brooks has also joined the marketing department as a summer intern through the company’s internship program. Brooks is a student at Iowa State University, pursuing a degree in Economics with a minor in general business. He is focusing on market research within the US Cargo Control division, analyzing competition, pricing, and new product offerings. An Iowa City native, he expects to graduate in December 2013.
The warehouse staff has added four part-time employees: Christian Garloff, Ian Storey, Wendi Kafer, and Joey Dighton, to its team in charge of sewing and assembly of the brand’s ratchet straps and other tie down products.
Garloff is a Vinton native and studies Network Administration and Engineering at Hawkeye Community College. Storey, also a resident of Vinton, is a student at Iowa State University, majoring in in Chemical Engineering. Kafer lives in Brandon and is also self-employed as a hairstylist. Dighton is a native of Center Point and is also a student at Coe College where he is studying Biology.
The recent staffing additions are a part of a hiring initiative that has the company increasing its staff by nearly one-third by mid-year 2013. Two major developments driving the hiring include the recent addition of the sewing and assembly department, and the development of a new website targeting the fastener and hardware industry.
