Voice Superstars YURI LOWENTHAL and TARA PLATT Premiere Trailer for New Convention Circuit Mockumentary “CON ARTISTS”

Los Angeles, CA (July 17, 2013) – Just in time for the largest comic convention in the world, voice-over megastars Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt are releasing a trailer for their upcoming new mockumentary comedy feature, CON ARTISTS.

In addition, this dynamic duo will be at Comic-Con in San Diego this week, participating on several panels and greeting fans of their celebrated irreverent web-comedy, SHELF LIFE, handing out free comics and trading cards related to the newly crowned Geekie Award winner for Best Comic Book/Superhero Webseries.

CON ARTISTS, a documentary/mockumentary hybrid in the vein of “Spinal Tap” and “Waiting for Guffman,” follows the antics of voice-actors and voice "celebs" Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt as they stumble embarrassingly through the world of anime/pop-culture conventions like Comic-Con and Anime Vegas.

Lowenthal and Platt co-created and produced the film under their Monkey Kingdom Productions banner, bringing in Boris Kievsky
to direct and some of their convention circuit friends to star alongside, including
Vic Mignogna (Full Metal Alchemist, Star Trek Continues), Steve Blum (Wolverine, Cowboy Bebop) and several other surprise cameos.

Both individually and together, Lowenthal and Platt have built solid resumes in Hollywood. Lowenthal has had recurring roles on such shows as “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “The Gilmore Girls” while his voice acting credits include the titular roles in the “Prince of Persia” games, Cartoon Network’s flagship show “Ben 10,” “Young Justice” and much more. Platt appeared in the recent feature film “The Call” alongside Halle Berry, as well as numerous network television shows, including “Hawaii 5.0” alongside husband Lowenthal, “Castle,” “Revenge,” “Parenthood,” “Charmed,” and “Gilmore Girls.” Her voice-over credits include the characters Wonder Woman (DC vs. Mortal Kombat), Dream Girl (Legion of Superheroes) and Temari (Naruto).

Looking to share their voice-over know-how, Lowenthal and Platt co-authored the award-winning how-to book, “Voice-Over Voice Actor: What It’s Like Behind the Mic,” offering insider tips and in-depth discussion about the business of voice acting.
