November 23, 2013 (Anaheim, CA) – Dr Pepper Snapple Group, in conjunction with Northgate and Good Sports, presented the West Anaheim Little League new baseball equipment including balls, bats, gloves, catchers’ equipment and other protective gear. The West Anaheim Little League has served the youth of Anaheim since the organization was formed in 1959. The Little League now serves 200 kids between the ages of 5 and 16 annually, offering baseball and softball programming and providing the children of Anaheim with a safe, structured environment to play baseball.
“Dr Pepper Snapple Group is proud to be involved with the communities in which we live and work. The employees of our local 7Up/RC operations in Southern California take great pride in giving back to the community for the great support they show our brands. Working together with our local partners as witnessed here today is the best way to build strong neighborhoods and brighter futures for all,” explained Pablo Guzman, vice president, Hispanic market sales, Dr Pepper Snapple Group.
“This new equipment will greatly help our volunteer coaches teach the children to develop the skills they need to move up with a brand new fresh set of tools! Providing so many kids with the confidence that they can count on having the equipment they need to continue playing the sport that they love. We know many leagues are in need of help, and we feel so blessed to have been chosen by the great people over at Good Sports, DPS and Northgate Markets. We will use this gift to continue to promote community togetherness, health and exercise through the love of baseball,” expressed Jennifer Matta, West Anaheim Little League President.
“Our goal is to ensure all kids have the opportunity to engage in sports and fitness and all the benefits that go along with those opportunities,” said Melissa Harper, CEO at Good Sports. We are excited to partner with Dr Pepper Snapple Group to make this donation to the West Anaheim Little League as we believe this donation will give more youth a chance to play baseball.”
