Web retailer Clickstop has been recognized by the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ) as one of the Coolest Places to Work in the seven-county area surrounding the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor. The Coolest Places to Work selection identifies and honors local companies that have created rewarding and engaging work environments. Companies were chosen based on a worker satisfaction survey completed by their own employees earlier this year. The survey included topics such as workplace environment, job satisfaction, career growth, compensation, and company management.
Clickstop employees will learn of their exact rank number during an awards breakfast on Tuesday, June 11th at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center. The CBJ will choose three winners- one in each of three different categories based on company size. One company will also be recognized at the conclusion of the event as the overall “Coolest Place to Work.”
According to the CBJ, this inaugural event will also focus on providing a forum through speakers and a panel discussion, to consult with a diverse group of executives known for providing a positive vocational experience.
Founded by CEO Tim Guenther eight years ago, Clickstop has 64 employees at its Urbana headquarters, and plans to hire an additional 10 more staffers by the end of 2013. The company operates 11 online web stores, with employees managing everything from product sourcing and website development to phone sales support and shipping. Clickstop has also recently been recognized by the CBJ as one of the fastest growing businesses in the area.
“We’ve been in a growth mode for the past five years, but our ability to cultivate our core values and a positive work environment has remained a constant focus,” said Guenther. “This recognition is especially gratifying because it’s based on what our own employees believe about our company and the work we’re doing.”
